Leukemia
Leukemia is a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow, which are responsible for producing blood cells. The exact causes of leukemia are not fully understood, but some potential risk factors include exposure to radiation or certain chemicals, a history of chemotherapy or radiation therapy, genetic disorders such as Down syndrome, and a family history of leukemia. Symptoms of leukemia may include fatigue, fever, frequent infections, unexplained weight loss, and easy bruising or bleeding. Diagnosis is typically made through blood tests and bone marrow biopsy, and treatment may involve chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, or a combination of these approaches depending on the type and stage of the leukemia.
