Uterine cancer, also known as endometrial cancer, is a cancer that arises in the lining of the uterus. The exact cause of uterine cancer is unknown, but several risk factors have been identified, including obesity, older age, hormonal imbalances, and a history of certain medical conditions such as diabetes and polycystic ovary syndrome. Symptoms of uterine cancer may include abnormal vaginal bleeding or discharge, pain during sex, pelvic pain or pressure, and weight loss. Treatment typically involves surgery to remove the uterus and sometimes other nearby structures, along with chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
