BlueTextureWallFull.jpg

Stomach cancer, also known as gastric cancer, is the growth of cancerous cells in the lining of the stomach. The exact causes are unknown, but risk factors include a diet high in salted, smoked, or pickled foods, a family history of stomach cancer, smoking, obesity, and infection with Helicobacter pylori bacteria. Symptoms may not appear until the cancer has spread, but may include nausea, stomach pain, indigestion, and loss of appetite. Treatment options include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or a combination of these.
