Paralysis
Paralysis refers to the loss of muscle function in part of the body and can occur due to a variety of factors. Neurological conditions such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, and spinal cord injury can cause paralysis. Trauma, such as a head injury, can also lead to paralysis. Risk factors for paralysis can include age, lifestyle factors such as smoking or excessive alcohol consumption, and pre-existing medical conditions such as diabetes or high blood pressure. Treatment for paralysis may involve physical therapy, medication, and sometimes surgery.
