Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system, causing inflammation, demyelination, and nerve damage. The exact cause of MS is unknown, but it is believed to be a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Common risk factors include being a woman, having a family history of MS, living in a northern latitude, and being of European descent. Symptoms of MS vary depending on the location and severity of the damage but can include fatigue, muscle weakness, difficulty walking, vision problems, and cognitive impairment.
