Total/Partial Hysterectomy
Hysterectomy is a surgical procedure to remove a woman's uterus, the organ where a baby grows during pregnancy. It can be performed for a variety of reasons, such as uterine fibroids, abnormal vaginal bleeding, endometriosis, or cancer of the uterus, cervix, or ovaries. There are different types of hysterectomy, including total hysterectomy (removal of the uterus and cervix), subtotal hysterectomy (removal of the uterus but not the cervix), and radical hysterectomy (removal of the uterus, cervix, and surrounding tissues). Risks of the procedure may include bleeding, infection, damage to nearby organs, and hormonal changes.
