Gallbladder Cancer
Gallbladder cancer is a rare type of cancer that starts in the cells of the gallbladder, a small organ that helps with digestion. The exact causes of gallbladder cancer are not well understood, but some potential risk factors include age, gender, obesity, a history of gallstones, chronic inflammation of the gallbladder, and exposure to certain chemicals. Symptoms of gallbladder cancer may include abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, and jaundice. Diagnosis is typically made through imaging tests and biopsy, and treatment may involve surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or a combination of these approaches depending on the stage and location of the cancer. Regular monitoring of the gallbladder, especially in individuals with a history of gallstones, can help detect the cancer early when it is most treatable.
