Endometrial Cancer
Endometrial cancer is a type of cancer that develops in the lining of the uterus, which is called the endometrium. The exact causes of endometrial cancer are not fully understood, but some potential risk factors include hormonal imbalances, age, obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, and a family history of endometrial cancer. Symptoms of endometrial cancer may include abnormal vaginal bleeding, pelvic pain or pressure, and unexplained weight loss. Diagnosis is typically made through imaging tests and biopsy, and treatment may involve surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or hormonal therapy depending on the stage and grade of the cancer. Regular gynecologic exams and endometrial biopsies can help detect the cancer early when it is most treatable.
